Water/Wastewater Project Engineer

Water/Wastewater Project Engineer – Responsibilities: 

  • Direct and coordinate Water/Wastewater activities of several disciplines on everything from major wastewater projects to projects of moderate scope or a combination of smaller projects
  • Lead all design efforts in accordance with current regulations
  • Work with clients, staff engineers, and sub-consultants on multiple concurrent projects from planning through final design, construction, and commissioning
  • Coordinate with regulatory and funding agencies
  • Mentor less experienced staff and serve as a leader improving the latest technologies in wastewater planning, design, and construction methods
  • Plan, organize, and communicate project personnel needs to executive team
  • Assist in direction of project planning, budgeting, and establishing critical project objectives. May initiate or assist in contract negotiations or preparation
  • Other duties as assigned

Water/Wastewater Project Engineer – Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field required
  • 3 to 5 years direct engineering design experience in municipal water and wastewater treatment systems, pumping stations, and distribution and collection systems including hydraulic modeling
  • Registered Professional Engineer preferred
  • Experience in Land Development, Stormwater Management Design and E&S control a plus
  • Project engineering experience preparing and monitoring budgets and schedules
  • Familiarity with issues related to wastewater systems including master planning, collection/distribution, and pumping, with an emphasis on design and operations, and intimate knowledge of regulatory approval process
  • Must have ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of industry, government, and public contracts on project-related matters
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Autodesk and Microsoft Office computer software products
